How GCC Bookshop collects, uses and protects the information needed to process and support your book order.

This Privacy Policy applies to GCC Bookshop and the website gccbookshop.com. By using our website, placing an order or contacting our support team, you agree to the handling of information described below.

Information we collect

When you place an order, we collect only the information needed to confirm payment, prepare your parcel, deliver books and provide order support:

Name
Mobile number and WhatsApp number
Full delivery address, including the PIN code
Email address
Order details, payment status, products ordered and order-related messages
When you choose Manual UPI Verification, a successful-payment screenshot that you voluntarily upload for verification

How we use your information

To process your order, confirm payment and prepare the books you selected.
To arrange delivery anywhere in India through our manual Anjani Courier dispatch workflow.
To send order, delivery-estimate and customer-support communications by email, phone or WhatsApp.
To respond to enquiries, damage/wrong-item reports, replacement requests or other support requests.
To maintain business, tax, payment and legal records where required.

Payments

When Manual UPI Verification is available at checkout, you pay externally to the merchant QR or UPI ID displayed on the checkout page. We collect the successful-payment screenshot you upload only to verify that order. The receipt is stored separately from the public media library and is accessible only to authorised store administrators handling the order. It is not automatic payment confirmation.

Before an uploaded Manual UPI screenshot is accepted, it is securely sent to Google Gemini API, a Google service, for AI-based payment-evidence analysis. The analysis identifies visible receipt details such as payment-confirmation status, amount, merchant/UPI recipient, payment date/time and any transaction reference. This helps identify unsuitable or reused uploads; it does not automatically approve or confirm payment. Store staff still reconcile every order against the actual BharatPe or bank record.

For any online gateway enabled at checkout, GCC Bookshop does not store your complete card, UPI or net-banking credentials. The selected provider processes payment information according to its own privacy policy and security practices.

Who may receive information

We share only the information necessary for order fulfilment and site operation. This may include Google Gemini API for the Manual UPI screenshot analysis described above, payment-gateway providers, Anjani Courier for delivery, website hosting/email providers and technology providers that help operate the store. We do not sell or rent customer personal information to third parties.

Cookies and site data

The website may use cookies and similar technologies to keep the cart and checkout working, maintain sessions, remember preferences, prevent abuse and understand basic site usage. You may manage cookies through your browser settings, but disabling essential cookies can affect cart or checkout functionality.

Data retention and security

We retain order and support information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil orders, handle customer service, maintain records and meet legal or accounting obligations. We use reasonable technical and administrative measures to protect information. No online system, however, can be guaranteed completely secure.

Your choices

You may contact us to ask about personal information linked with your order or enquiry. We may need to verify your identity before responding. Some information may need to be retained where required for completed orders, fraud prevention, accounting or legal compliance.
